One of Tiffany's most famous creations is the "Dragonfly" lamp. The Dragonfly lamp was created by Clara Driscoll in 1900 and was so well received that it won the Paris International Exposition award
that year. Clara Driscoll, who became popular after the creation of her Dragonfly Tiffany lamp, was a very creative designer and worked with Tiffany for almost 30 years. And though the lamp is called a Tiffany lamp, it is and always has been acknowledged as Driscoll's artwork.

Louis Comfort Tiffany kept the identities of his designers hidden partly because he was keen to keep the focus on his own artistic genius and business prowess. But in reality, under the guidance and direction of Clara Driscoll, more than 30 lamps were created in the name of Tiffany.

In Japan, the symbol of the dragonfly is synonymous with happiness and longevity. So what better way to capture this essence than on a lamp! The Tiffany dragonfly lamps are a great addition to any home, whether in the form of table lamps, desk lamps, floor lamps or sconces.

While most of the original Tiffany lamps command extremely high prices, the dragonfly reproduction lamps are available at affordable prices. These replicas are meticulously handcrafted using the old copper foil technique that was adopted by Louis Tiffany because the existing technique was hampering creativity and color choices.

As well as the infamous hanging head dragonfly, Tiffany lamps had other nature-inspired designs such as water lilies, peacock feathers, wisteria. The abundance of color and intricacy of designs meant that these lamps were not only appliances that provided light in your home, but they were also ornamental because they were so beautifully crafted and thus are a great piece to have in your home.
